One woman's journey to creating a rather skewed version of Jane Austen for her daughter's wedding.
So, my eldest daughter is getting married this September and her chosen theme is Jane Austen with a twist (several, actually). The dresses will be Regency era, as will the food. The "twist" comes from everything else. Her colors are lime green and peacock blue. She also wants masks, zebra print and peacock feathers. I am blogging my experience of trying to pull all of these aspects together in some cohesive, fun yet elegant manner. This is also my first blog. Welcome to the ride!

My dress for the Reception
I have almost finished cutting out my dress for the reception. Yes, I am aware that the color is not Lime green or royal blue. But the Bride has forgiven me since I did not have the money to buy more material, and I already had this lace and satin in my fabric stash. Luckily it does go with peacock feathers, it's the darker teal green. I am making my youngest daughter work on her own dress, she wanted to learn how to sew. Of course, I will be helping her out, I'm not that mean (well, not always anyway :D)
