So, my eldest daughter is getting married this September and her chosen theme is Jane Austen with a twist (several, actually). The dresses will be Regency era, as will the food. The "twist" comes from everything else. Her colors are lime green and peacock blue. She also wants masks, zebra print and peacock feathers. I am blogging my experience of trying to pull all of these aspects together in some cohesive, fun yet elegant manner. This is also my first blog. Welcome to the ride!

I started working on the invitations today, didn't get too far with them. I did almost finish the Bridal bouquet last night, however. Amidst "star spangled banners" and popping rockets I was poking in flowers, feathers and bling. Why was I not watching said rockets glare??? Migraine....eesh! I am quite pleased with how it is turning out. I would post some pictures, but I am making the bouquet as a surprise for my daughter. She knows I am making it, just not anything else. Once it is finished I will ship it to her and then post the pictures.

Still have not gotten the zebra print ribbon for the bridesmaids' bouquets (lack of funds...). I must also give credit to my great friend, Kim W. for the suggestion of wrapping the ribbon around the handle and having ribbon hanging off of the end. It was a great suggestion!
