The paper came today!!! Yeah!!! And everything was exactly what I needed (thank you, createforless.com). So, I got one Open House invite made and took a picture. Since it is going to be a low-key, informal affair, we decided to make the invitations pretty simple as well. I just glued a black and white photo of the couple onto some scrapbook paper, glued a section of ribbon onto the lime green cardstock that I made into cards, glued the picture over the ribbon and then added three tiny paper flowers on two corners that I had punched out using a flower-shaped paper puncher. Then, on the inside I just glued the invitation that I had already made.
I am going to use the white cards for the more "formal" reception that we are having. I will start working on those, probably tomorrow.
One woman's journey to creating a rather skewed version of Jane Austen for her daughter's wedding.
So, my eldest daughter is getting married this September and her chosen theme is Jane Austen with a twist (several, actually). The dresses will be Regency era, as will the food. The "twist" comes from everything else. Her colors are lime green and peacock blue. She also wants masks, zebra print and peacock feathers. I am blogging my experience of trying to pull all of these aspects together in some cohesive, fun yet elegant manner. This is also my first blog. Welcome to the ride!
